speed dating......... and would you like fries with that?

Speed dating: pay money to spend about 5 mins talking with 15 guys - select those you're interested in having future dates with, (check a 'yes' or 'no' beside each name) and get emailed if the selection was mutual.

Today met a young man who had 'checked a yes' in a box beside the name of one of my dear friends. I was to give the 'thumbs up' or not over a vegetarian burger at a local cafe. Hmmm - well, to his credit, he could speak in full sentences, asked interesting questions and paid for our dessert. He has been pursuing my dear friend for about three weeks now - (definition 'pursue': send text messages)

Well he performed well - did all the things that 'A Potential' should - trouble is..... he does not share my friend's world view or values. She's pretty keen though - and even....likes his son - ahhh, how complex life can be sometimes. I know the simple solution - "don't go there" - but our affections can be so easily persuaded....

Some things I think are best not to be hurried - and I wouldn't settle for a take-away when there could be a great restaurant round the corner.
